6 year old TB ex-racer project
Well bred in Ireland, by Soldier of Fortune, grand-sire Galileo, out of a Grangeclare mare.
6 years old this month, standing 15:2/3
Very good looking horse with much potential, just too much of a project for me.
Had some signs of kissing spine issues and ulcers thanks to her brief spell in racing (June 24, ran once) but following vet care, change of diet, tlc and rest, she is now ready to continue her education. Eats like a pig, currently fed on low protein, high fibre conditioning chaff, speedy beet and Haylage. Shod in front, 4 good strong black feet.
Good to catch, clip, load, travel, shoe, dentist.
She had down time July 24-Feb 25 and has had being professionally retrained. Goes well in a school and thrives on routine (something I can’t do due to work commitments). Hacks out ok in company, likes to look around and needs reminding to go straight, hopeless hacking out on her own, as yet but she’s bright, she will get there, just sadly not with me due to lack of time and facilities.
Mabel needs a knowledgeable, patient and kind person to bring her on as she is quirky; not a novice ride by any means and can a bit unpredictable – she is young and had little done with her outside of being made to run very fast. (She can, she just didn’t want to…..)
Shes a TB after all so can be a bit “spooky” if she is out by herself, my advice, go with company at first. Not so much ‘green’ as fluorescent. But with the right person and a strict routine, someone with good schooling experience availability and time, that person will have a super little horse.
ROR eligible and would excel as a show hack.
Lovely fluid paces and a goofy, sweet nature.
5* home only.
