Timmy – 12.1 Hands Welsh Pony for Sale

Meet Timmy, a 12.1 hands Welsh pony who has been a cherished companion for 15 years. Known as a “little gent” by his trainers, Timmy is a well-tempered pony with a heart of gold. Originally raised alongside a fellow pony mare, Timmy has spent most of his life as a companion and has a calm, loving nature. After the loss of his mare companion in 2024, Timmy began his training journey with us. As we are retired and no longer ride, we believe it’s time for Timmy to find a new home where he can continue to develop.

Training and Experience:

• Breaking and Riding: Recently broken and now happily ridden by an 8-year-old rider, Timmy has taken well to his training. Although he’s still green under saddle, he has shown great promise and will make an excellent mount with further experience.

• Lunging and Long Rein Training: Timmy has been lunged and trained to long rein, making him well-versed in groundwork. He enjoys long rein walks around the lanes and fells near our property, which is one of his favourite activities.

• Pole Work: He has also worked over poles, showing a willingness to engage and learn.

Temperament:
Timmy is friendly, patient, and loves to be groomed and pampered. He enjoys standing still for long grooming sessions and is a perfect companion pony for children or adults who enjoy bonding with their horse through care and affection.

Suitability:
Timmy would suit a family looking for a companion pony or one who needs a pony who will thrive on living alone. While Timmy is a green pony under saddle, he is very calm and has potential for further training, especially for a rider willing to give him time and patience.

Health and Other Considerations:
Timmy has a unique health trait – he has never been gelded as his testicles never dropped. As a result, he is classified as a rig, but we have managed this with no issues over the years. As he ages, Timmy has become easier to manage and is no longer difficult to handle.

This decision has not been easy, but Timmy deserves a loving home where he can continue to blossom. Whether you’re looking for a gentle companion or a pony with the potential for light riding and groundwork, Timmy will make a wonderful addition to any family.
